Just joined today.
I have just got back into riding this summer and just love it. I am riding an 1980's Nishiki road bike, and now want to upgrade to new bike. Now if I can only figure out what type of bike to get, I might be able to get some sleep.
Road bike or hybrid cross?

Get the road bike!

Welcome to the forums, by the way. Keep on asking the questions and checking out other people's questions to get some of your own questions answered, and when you get that new bike, don't forget to post a picture so we can all envy your new addition to your family! ;)

Your Nishiki road bike might be worth more than you think especially if it is made of lugged steel. Post a pic in the classic and vintage section. You should take it to a bike shop (unluss you have already) and have them give it the once-over. If the bike has been reasonably taken care of you might have a sweet ride for less than $100.
