Surly makes some awesome frames for an awesome price. (my next bike will be a surly steamroller *drool*)

Price depends on what kind of setup you want, and how much you want to put into it... you could probly build up a nice bike with that frame for under $1200 on a budget. Or you can do a top of the line buildup and spend $2500+ :)

Careful! We don't want to end up like those other forums (I won't name them here - I'll just call it something - bike review...no, no, that's too obvious. How about road bike - something? Yes, that works).

Beware the slippery slope people.

Hey Fubar, if you like the Surly, then I'm sure you'd like the Litespeed Kitsuma. Kinda like the Surly, only titanium.

Was looking for a pic, but couldn't find one quickly, sorry! But knowing you, you'll find one sooner than I could anyways! And NO, the litespeed website didn't show one, I guess they didn't sell too well since they dropped them from their 2002 lineup!

Really? For some reason I thought Ti wore out easily.....There was a discussion about weight weenies and one of the things that came up was Ti....Maybe I remember wrong. Let me see If I can dig up a picture.

I don't think you are Fubar. I remember reading about strength issues with TI also.

A well made Ti frame will last for a long long time.
A light weight pared down Ti part might not last that long. But Ti frames will out last most AL. frames. Think about it who would spend $2000+ for a Litespeed, Merlin, Moots, or Seven Ti frame if it was only going to last couple of years. Those frames are considered some of the most durable and desirable frames on the market.

Does Litespeed make good Ti frames? Of course, if they are marketing this as a 'bighit" type bike, it is probably pretty sturdy. It is definetly a sweet looking frame.

Well, I don't know how we went from Fubar's picture of the Surly frame to Litespeed titanium but here's some info about Ti from a guy who only builds Ti.

http://www.mattchester.com/maindocs/411.shtml

Love those Moots but come on, those prices. OUCH!!

Surly's more my style. Inexpensive, Bomber and Heavy.

I agree that Titanium is supposed to be the ultimate in strength/weight. I was really suprised when I read the article myself. Sure wish I could remember where I saw it. Might have even been an issue with flex. If I can find the article, I'll post it.
