Still bike shopping...

A friend has an '01 Allez Comp (aluminum/carbon fork) with just over 500 miles that he's willing to sell me for around $500.

With the full Ultegra components and current pricing on the bike it sounds like a good deal. Fits and rides nice, too.

Anyone know of any problems with this particular model in 2001 that I should check out before I buy?

Thanks.

500 for a full Ultegra bike with 500 miles on it is a really good deal. Specialized makes solid bikes so I wouldnt be overly concerned.

If it fits you and you want/need it - buy it! The ultegra components alone are worth more than that. Specialized is quality stuff.

That's an awesome deal.... I bought my '00 Allez Comp for $750, and I thought that was a great deal! Go for it!

PS: check the front derailleur hanger... make sure it is not cracked (mine cracked and i needed to get a new frame)
