Hello everyone, I have been doing extensive research for about a month now and have just ordered everything to start my electro bike project. I should start getting my shipments this friday. I will be documenting everything here to help others and get help along the way. Here are the things I have picked up for the project:

2001 Specialized HardRock Sport
500 watt golden motor kit from perfecteam
36v 20ah lifepo4 battery from pingbattery
Fenders
Rear rack
waterproof rack trunk
liquid electric tape
dielectric grease
lithium grease
Digital Multimeter With 7

I believe I have everything I need for an all weather ebike. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Flat tire kit - inner tube, small air-pump(I got the 3-in-one-->CO2 threaded, CO2 Non-threaded, and tiny air-pump), tire removal tool, etc..
extra zip ties
a small ratchet and socket to remove and re-install front e-hub quickly
small wire cutter plier (to cut zip ties)

small stuff, but a flat tire out in nowhere could be a real bummer.

I figured the electric tape would be fine. I have some aquarium sealant I could use.

I will definitely have a backup kit. I was actually thinking about getting airless tires. Don't know much about um though. The powerinmotion tips are ok, but I plan on doing better. See the liquid electrical tape is a 100% flexible seal. It's a lot like rubber cement. Use that for the connectors I don't plan on undoing unless I have to replace something. Dielectric grease to waterproof the battery connector so it's still easily removable.

So, I got my battery yesterday, and I got my motor kit today from. No instructions, but everything was connected, so I know where everything plugs in. Looks like Perfecteam took some time and already sealed the wires into the controller. looks like I'll need to get a new shifter for the 5 speed freewheel that came on it. I don't think my 8 speed is going to fit on it.

I read at ebikes.ca that if you silicon the area where the wire goes into the motor, you may end up trapping moisture that can end up in your motor and cause more harm than good. Ebikes.ca goes on to say that they have seen a case where a motor was sealed at the junction where the wire does enter the motor and moisture ended up in the motor and coroded it. This is in reference to crystalyte motors.
