Its not that I want a girlfriend.

If I did, I could get a girlfriend.

And inspirational and supportive posts don't count if you post it twice.

Maxi, this is not really true. I am well into my 40's and my eyesight is still pretty good.

but the pile of kittens is freaking huge and starting to smell a bit.

True about the eyesight, but I have to shave the palms of my hands twice a day. :o But at least I don't have to wear cycling gloves. :D

I'm not willing to pay about $200 bucks to go to the prom with some girl (I would put the b word, but its rude) that I'm not going to care about in another few weeks anyway.

I'd rather save that loot, and buy myself something that will pay off later in life.
Like stocks and a car.

You can't buy a very good car or stock for $200.

May as well spend it on getting laid.

I've already got $1150 saved up.

Freshmen don't get laid, if you haven't noticed.

And when I'm rich and prosperous because I didn't spend my money on mindless BS when I was in high school, I can buy me some supermodels and bang them all day ever day on my private island.

Maxi, you're here, writing mindless drivel. When does your day allow time for you to become rich and prosperous?

I'm spending 40 next weekend for prom. But that's because I've got good connections and my date and I are eating with a bunch of friends at our friend's house. Damn good cooking there.

We've also grown up together, so getting laid isn't exactly a priority. That would probably make things eternally awkward, actually.

That said, my ex and I had the good ol' "let's just be friends" talk with me about 3 weeks ago.... and then asked another guy to prom. That sure went over well. And now there's the awkward part of "best friends for 5 years, but dating the last 6 months" deal.

Women are crazy. But they....how do I say it..... add some "variety" to our lives. :P

My co worker's daughter is having her prom.

Hair cut colored and styled in an updo ~ $175
Nails done ~ $40
Shoes and accessories to match dress ~ 140
1 Ticket into prom ~ $60
Boutonniere ~ $20
Dinner for herself ~ approx $50 inclu tip
Limo for 6 hours, her share ~ $210 inclu tip
Dress ~ $500

I own my tux (it's a slick double breasted tux, so it works for anything later down the road), gas prices will be negligible (compared to a limo), and our ticket is 30 for a couples. Dinner is free. Corsage comes out to 10ish.

My date owned the dress anyways, is being driven by me, is getting her hair done by her mom (nothing too fancy, she's not a fan of excessive styling), and is getting me a boutonniere for not too much. So, she's really getting the better end of the deal.

Siu, thanks for the breakdown of the price. I never figured out how people managed to spend so much on prom. Last year cost me about 400. But that's because I had to get the tuxedo.

Lawsamercy! Things sure have changed since my proms in the late '60s. *LIMO*??? We shared a guy's mom's Barracuda (one of the original muscle cars, for you young'ns), and the guys were expected to cover the meal cost. For that, we got a free boutonniere. :thumb:
