Mountain Biking - What fork would I be if.........

I and swapping my frame from a FS to a hardtail and am in the market for a new fork. My current fork is a RS Judy SL (2001?) and works OK but it sounds like rusted slinky's when compressing. I'm pretty sure this fork is way overworked, I am 235 lbs. I do mostly trails/ST with some jumps (nothing huge). I would like your input on recommendations for a new one.

I am looking for a dual coil, 100mm travel, lock-out would be nice but not required, disc compatible and easily maintained. Would like to keep price under $300.

Marzocchi MX Comp ETA. 105mm, $300, 1 side coil, 1 side air, Extension Travel Reduction is better than a lock out.

Either that or go for a Total Air upgrade for the old Judy.

You can get a new ('02 or '03) Manitou Black for $200 easy. The Marz MX comp is in that range as well.
For easy maintanence you'll want a dual coil fork most likely.

Closeout deals on a Manitou Black Comp all over the place for right around $200.

I'd also look at a Rock Shox Psylo with U-Turn Travel adjust.

Of course, my favorite fork (and the one I own) would be Marzocchi Z1. I just bought mine on closeout and paid $299. It's a bit more travel than what you want (5"), but a great fork. I bought mine at Cambria Bicycle.

See if they still have some left over.

Also, regardless of which fork you buy, you WILL need to change the stock springs to a stiffer (the stiffest) spring.

You're over 200 lbs, so you'll need the X-Tra Stiff!
