I brought my first set of clipless pedals a little under a year ago-Shimano SPDs.

For the past couple of months I've noticed a clicking sound coming from my left pedal-it only occurs when I am pulling up hard (ie. when accelerating or climbing hills). I have tried adjusting the tension-I have made it quite a bit tighter but this hasn't changed anything.

I have also tried putting some oil on my cleats, no luck.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?
My only other thought would be that I need to replace the cleats-but this would surprise me as I have only been able to ride consistently (ie. ~4 times per week) for about the past 6 months, I would have expected the cleats to last longer then this.

Any ideas on this would be appreciated

i could definetly be wrong, but it sounds like the clicking would more likely be coming from the crank.
