If it's not the answer, you're asking the wrong question.

Much preferred the wooden rabbit idea from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. At least with the rabbit, the castle walls would still be standing, unless they were built by X or Jsharr.

There's a contest I heard about where they use trebuchets to hurl haggis over a body of water. Prizes awarded for distance and accuracy.

Thus combining two of the great inventions of the old world. And if you don't think haggis is a great invention, you've never lived somewhere where there's not much else but rocks and sheep.

Heres one- what if you could turn a trebuchet upside down and have it fling itself?

Me and a friend built a small trebuchet. Was kinda crappy and was mostly just to see if we could do it in an afternoon.

One day i'll take my time and build a nice one. Then mount it in the back of my friend's truck. Trebuchets are alot quieter than potato cannons. ;)
