View Full Version : Jamis Sonik
So I have an opportunity to get this complete bike for pennies, I was wondering if anyone has heard about these bikes. The component group is decent, and the frame seems to be alright as well.

The rest of the thread is about furniture. Those posts are pretty much the meat of the discussion.

The Sonik looks like a sick ride! It is on par or above its target competition (Bianchi pista concept, fuji track pro) and the American Classic wheelset that comes with it retails for around $800, so the complete bike price of $1200 should be a good deal. I have never ridden one or even seen one... I friend of mine ordered one and the wrong size was shipped so he is waiting another week. I was considering a Jamis Road Bike and while researching i read many positive post about Jamis. It seams that they are trying to build solid high performance bikes, and pricing them competitively, to get into the U.S. market.... They are a Canadian company
I guess none of this really matters to you if you are getting the bike for pennies..... lol
If you dont want it and its a 54cm let me know...

THanks.

I want one so bad! I think it's the best deal out there in that price range for complete with aero tubing. I'm hoping to get one within a month, keep ya posted as long as the finances come through!

it's got a 58 TT and ST and it's just too big. It's on CL but no bites yet. You know anyone interested let me know. Frame fork BB headset for $600 or maybe less if it's someone I know. I still don't know if I can even get a 54 sonik they are completely sold out on the west coast and lifecycle is trying to find one for me on the east coast.

Yeah, Life Cycle would be the place to go. That's my main shop and Gilad loveeees Jamis. I had barely heard of them as a brand before I started going there...
I can't find any potential buyers in Eugene, but I would think plenty of people would be all over that bike in Portland. Try running a Portland CL ad. As we both know, there's not a whole lot of expensive track bikes here or people who are down to buy them...

Yeah ran it in P-Town for a month and everyone is scared of it because of how rare it is. Had a few offers and then they blew me off after I drove all the way up there last weekend :( I'm trying to be patient but I'd love the sonik, or maybe TK2, and a fall back FTP if all else fails. Are you racing for anyone in alpenrose this season, or just independent? I've had 2 places ask me about joining their teams but don't know what I'm doing until I get my bike.

Umm, I may search out a team to race for. Maybe I should tell Gilad to put me down on Lifecycle's team haha. I can try to help you find buyers in Portland once I go back there though. I've got a couple friends and acquantances that like to have nice bikes...

Screw cheap. Anyone know where I could just buy this bike straight up full price in complete form (size 48 or 51). Pretty much all the shops in my area (Seattle, WA) are OOS.

I know of a complete 54 and a 56 frame, eat some raw eggs and grow an inch and your in luck!
