I did it once last year when we went to an event in Millenium Park. It was free at that time, and very convenient. Go to the right past the security guard. I felt safe locking up my bike there
You may want to ask about overnight storage. If I ran the place, I would not allow it. Before you know it, all places are taken up by abandoned bikes:deadhorse:

PS. I know, the dead horse has nothing to do with the post. I just thought it was new and very funny

I think thats where i parked a rental bike last year, the place seemed pretty nice to me, with fancy 2-level racks for storing bikes and locking them up. It was free at the time, however I want to say there were signs up that said no overnight storage and that bikes would be removed if left. I can't remember exactly so you might want to call and ask. not sure when i'll be down that way to look again.
