It's not as though she likes it, but I don't have a car and she doesn't hate it anymore than the bus.

I use one of those bright yellow kiddie trailers. Be sure you work out a short leash system as a lot of times dogs will want to jump out and run with the bike. My dog doesn't particularly like it, compared to walks and car rides, but it will get him to the vet, and it will shield him from the cold.
Just make sure you have thicker dropouts for the clamp-style hookup on most trailers, some of the thinner chainstays on old school steel bikes aren't thick enough for the clamp to get a good grip. Most bikes seem to have thick chainstays nowadays, though. I love my dog. :beer:
