hey ya'll...

Crusiing Ebay looking for flip flop hubs and/or a rear wheel... and came across this...

Will it work if I lace it to my 700c wheels ? I know it says BMX, and I could be totally off-track here... but the price looked good... so it started me thinking...

Lemme know what ya think... I'm just looking to go single speed as cheaply as possible ya know ?

I'm pretty sure that isn't what you're looking for if you want freewheel/fixed. BMX flip-flop hubs are threaded both sides for a freewheel, but one side threaded smaller or something. If you want just freewheel then it would probably work.

you would have to space it out. bmx spacing is 110. its hard to tell if you have enough space on the axle to space it out enough. also it does not look like a cup/cone/locknut setup so i am not sure how you would go about spacing it out. i would just suck it up and buy something reasonable like a surly hub. they are pretty cheap and sealed. i have had good luck with them. the suzue hubs are a big step down but they are decent as well

keep in mind there are at least 4 different models of suzue hubs, with wildly varying quality. the bottom of the suzue line falls below the surly hubs in quality, but the top of the suzue line is a far better hub than the surly, right up there with the best that shimano, campy and others have to offer.

for a good overview of the different suzue hubs and how they compare to each other, spend some time at the business cycles site.

Seriously, a Suzue hub is only $25 more, and it's gonna fit. Why take chances?
