Mountain Biking - Prediction: White bikes will be faster even than blue ones

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Remember, you saw it here first. White is the new black, which was the new blue, which was the new white.

Just got word from Kevin at Transition last night that my new Blindside frame was in and ready to ship. A quick phone call this morning is getting it on its way to me and hopefully into my hands early next week. Woohoo!

Funny thing was, turns out it is no longer available in the black that I ordered so I get kind of an inverse Henry Ford color choice: 'Any color I want as long as it's white.' That sorta throws my custom engine-turned-gold-leaf vinyl Transition decal idea out the window (woulda popped off the black . . .), but, hey, it's just cosmetics anyway, right?

I might have ordered more black parts had I known. Better not ride it in a blizzard; if I have to stop to take a leak I may never find it again! Anyway, I'll be sure to post up some picts when I get it put together; although, it's gonna be so fast, I may have to run beside it to get any :D.

BTW, this is beating an old subject now but I just got the Sea Otter picts from my niece on a CD last night (bless her heart); and here is a podium shot. Try to see past the dork-factor of not getting my goggle strap turned right so that the logo shows (an obvious amateur gaffe ):

Awesome picture. Did you win the tires?

^^ Yeah . . . shhhhhh! They'll probably go on the XTS Moto for fun-riding only. They're 2.5 Shorttrackers.

BTW, that's probably the only pair of Royal Racing shorts you'll ever see in that color scheme. They're one of 10 pairs that were made to prototype the '08 line but didn't make it to production.

Yeah, but you better put alot of Load Bearing Decals(LBD's) on there, white bikes break easier than blue ones.

It is a well known fact that faster bikes are BLUE! The Doppler Effect proves this...

You're confusing doppler with visual blurring artifact.

Actually white bikes are so fast that they turn blue at high speed due to heat generated by friction from air passing over the weld joints...but this only works when they use red primer.

Hey Doug...nice rubber.

Hey Doug...nice rubber.

We all know colors are additive...Without the BLUE component, White is just another RED...

Your outfit is not color coordinated.

I really like that argyle jersey.

Congrats again on the podium, Doug. FWIW, I hear that all bike colours hit the same speed when you throw them off a roof. Given that gravity racing is more or less the same, I guess it doesn't matter what colour you have but do share some pics when the build is complete, like that wasn't going to happen. (veiled sponsor ***** reference).

Come one guys, this is simple. White is a combination of all colors in the visible spectrum. So it includes BLUE, which make it faster than blue. On the other hand, black is the absence of color, so you have a little weight savings as well. Maybe black is the fastest.

Yeah, I'm going with that.

Cant wait to see photos of the blindside, saw in some photos that you were rocking strokers (Did they think highly enough of you to give you Aces? :D) and this years fork (because i am a fiend). Sounds hot.

**** Yeah!

I absolutely love the tribal/checker thing you've got going. The Gang may have to try and integrate that with the possum logo.

I like that jersey too but I think it's argyle and not plaid.

The real question is, is argyle faster than plaid?

Once you go black, you never go back.

Argyle looks like crooked plaid, and I'm a fan of plaid. Of course under plaid, one must go commando.

Once you go black, you never go back.Hmmm . . . I had black, went to blue and going to white. They all seem pretty fast to me.

I will let the owner of The Path know and D, you look much younger then the rest of the old coots. :wtf:

Congrats on the new ride and since I ride white/blue bikes with a hint of black, where do those fit in?
