Anyone going to this? My husband and I signed up and will be going with a couple of friends of ours. They go just about every year and say it's great.

Goatbiker, from Fairfield, and Bentpebbles, from Newark, are going to be there.

Goat is a newbie, but BP is a veteran.

I live a few miles away on Morro Bay. I often go up to Paso and ride on Memorial Day weekend because it's hot (on the coast it's usually not) and because it's fun to ride with all those other bicyclists around. But it would seem a bit silly for me to pay for camping when I can just sleep at home.

Any questions a local might be able to help you with?

I have ridden to Paso Robles to the Great Western Bicycle Rally for the last 11 years. I ride with the Valley Spokesmen out of Dublin. We ride from Sunol to Hollister the first day then King City then into Paso. The rides there, around Paso, are great. Lots to do and good wineries. My favorite activity is the "Show and Shine" followed by the Huffy toss. Hope you have rooms by now, they are hard to come by.

Just got back yesterday from the Great Western Bicycle Rally, our first time. We really enjoyed ourselves, slept in our mini van which wasn't bad. Weather was cold and cloudy until Memorial Day and then it dawned bright and sunny. Glad we took the tandem, I don't think I could have made a lot of those hills on my single. Can't wait to go back next year.
