I'm thinking about buying a set of 20 x 2.00 big apples for my DT 8H. Will they fit on the 20 x 1.5 rims? Are there clearance problems with the front suspension?

Width-wide it will fit the wheel but I think you'll have clearance problems with the back fender. Schwalbe sells 1.5 BA tires, why do you want 2"? Just as a warning, I have Big Apple tires and like them but to get max "shock absorption" you need to keep them on lowest PSI, which makes them slow. I added a Thudbuster seat suspension and found that is far superior in terms of shock absorption, you might want to just keep your current tires and think about that.

I'm not too married to the rear fender so that's not a problem. I can't find a listing for BA 20 x 1.5's anywhere.

No, the smallest BA is 2" at Schwalbe web site.

My bad... I'd been looking at 20" Marathons too, yeah only 2.0's on there, sorry. Just by eye, I think the only clearance issues you'll have are with the rear fenders. Best bet is to find a local bike shop, see if they'll swap them if they don't fit... unfortunately Schwalbe won't accept a return on mounted tires.

The stock rear fender may be OK. I used to mount 20x1.95 BMX tire (Kenda K-Rad) on the rear wheel. It has the same ETRTO size (50-406) as the BA 20x2.00. The clearance is fine with me.
