Congrats to Davis for an excellent TTT performance. It's going to take a miracle to pry those guys out of the top spot. Wish I could have been there.

Yeaaaah... We pulled off 12th in the Men's D1 TTT, 11th in the Women's. Currently 9th in the omnium.
Not bad, considering we're still (re?) building the team! Congrats to UC-Davis, though!

Well someone has to learn how to efficiently dig up all of the ore that is turned into metal for all of us that still ride bikes not made of carbon! :D

A very well respeced engineering school. Of course, I'm a little biased, due to my niece’s husband having a teaching tenure there.

Makes sense. It just doesn't sound like a school that would have a cycling team.

Today's wind was brutal, I think only about 80 of 140+ starters finished. I had to give my wheel to our team leader on the final loop, waited around for the wheel car, got a new wheel, spent the entire headwind section chasing back on, got back on, promptly got dropped as the field split. Damn. I'm pretty positive that I would have been in the front group had I not just finished a 25 minute TT from hell...
One of our crit guys crashed today, I don't know if he can race tomorrow. So maybe I'll get to do it. Would make up for today, I guess...

Phil Mann of CSU won todays D1 crit, putting us into 3rd in the omnium. Course was wide open, flat, and full of crashes for some reason. Very, very fun.

That delaware guy was talking smack earlier in the week about how easy the road race profile looked. As I passed him on the very first climb of the day (where he was dropped) I turned to him and said "pretty easy course, eh?"
Only about 40 guys made it over the first climb together, but a few other smaller groups joined us later in the race. Perhaps riders won't bring an 11/23 to Colorado next year...

As PR guy for CSU cycling, its nice to see us getting a little recognition on a larger scale: http://www.9news.com/includes/buildasx.aspx?fn=/20080511-5-11-08-bikerace-5p.wmv&sp=http://wm.kusa.gannett.edgestreams.net/ads/sales/pre-stream/champstream-apr08.wmv

In the Ann Arbor Sprint Training (crit) Series in April. We're in the A Race rocketing down a straight section like we were fired from a cannon, and this small fearless rider came blasting up through a small sliver of daylight between me and the curb and started bridging to the breakaway.
Julie Bellerose
Winner of the D1 Women's crit.
Off the bike, she's one of the sweetest girls I've ever met.
So glad to see her win.
