My voice left me - like a spirit leaving a dead body...

It got sick last week - and it just left.. No warning, nothing gradual about it - I just woke up last saturday after getting sick the day before - and it was completely gone.

Since then... I keep my phone off - since what can I do with it but check my voice messages?

I am too lazy to txt. I hate ''txt msg'' ... I can't keep it less than the word maximum once I get started - and then I have to edit it down... and then people text you back and it never ends.

man... I dunno. I'm still sick due to this damp and erratic New England climate - but I am recovering slowly... but my voice is still absent, it's just completely not there.

It's getting on my last nerve. I want my voice back. like right now.. God why have you silenced me? I will silence YOU!! You miserable God.

And God Said ...

you shall learn the ways of texting and shall be happy. In fact, you will be so happy your next venue will be to teach the greater forums the love of texting.

Yes my friend, you are the next Texter Advocate. (so can I ask you now since you have a direct line up to you-know-who, can I get some more emoticons on my T-Mobile - I mean they ignore me ...).

P.S. Hope you get well soon, that stuff went around my office and took some people, who never call in sick, out for a full week or more ... nasty stuff!

Any diseases going around, I end up getting, because of being at a university that has lots of foreign exchange students. :/

I remember how one co-worker at a place I worked at handled losing her voice for a couple days, and still had to come in... she dressed as a mime, makeup and all, until she could talk without hurting her vocal chords.

RH, you know there is someone right now thinking... "man, if it will only move down to his fingers, I will be set..."

Sorry to hear about your loss of voice, hope you get better soon.

Ha ha!! RH.... Still doesn't stop you from gabbing on the internet. You're funny.

I hope you get your voice back soon. RH without his voice is like Siu without Pistachio ice cream. :thumb:

I think it's a great time to join a monastery...you'll have the vow of silence down pat.

Oh, make sure it's one in Belgium, the monks there make great beer. :D

Warm tea with lemon & honey (preferrably sour wood honey)...it does wonders for the throat.
I used to get a sore throat and lose my voice every year.....The tea really helped me when I needed it...maybe it will help you too.

No Red, mime it isn't so  ! You know that I am there in spirit for you. Channel me through those fingers, and keep writing.

I won't be here for several hours today (going to Olympia to ride with FlowerBlossom :D ), so I need someone to help me out.

You, Red, are that person!

That's not exactly what you call a prayer, right?

Funny that you blame your malady on someone you don't believe in. Very odd, indeed.

I dunno... does 'threat' = ''prayer'' ?

God threatened all those poor people in the bible to get them to fear Him and make prayers to Him... So if I threaten God enough and make Him fear me - then He could start worshipping me, yeah? .. And you know, the point is - He's God, He can do what ever He wants (including worship me - if that's what He 'chooses' ). And I am worshippabable.

No, I do believe in Him... I just don't have much faith in Him.

I wasn't concerned, it just sounds really weird. Kind of like believing in luck.

You're not alone. . but in a different sense. I have a bad ear infection. It's almost like being deaf in one ear. It feels clogged and there is this constant loud ringing/buzzing(quite annoying) and whenever I talk it is really loud and my voice echoes. Things I hear sometimes echo a little. . . . Being almost half deaf is annoying I can't understand what people are saying half the time.

Are you dizzy as well? Do not do anything dangerous whilst you are in this state!

Do you like crystalized ginger pieces? They're soothing and taste good.
