yay I win!

The Gunslinger by far is my favourite, by the time we rolled around to The Dark Tower everything
was all jumbled and confused.
I think The Gunslinger stayed true to Kings original idea.

I liked the first four very, very much, but then after a hiatus and King being addicted to painkillers, etcetera, it seemed the books lost momentum and focus, and despite it being one of my favorite fantasy serieses, I actually did not finish the last book because it was so terrible. I voted Wizard and Glass, as my favorite parts of the novels where the flashbacks to how things were, and that's basically all this one was.

How bad does an author need to run out of ideas before he adds himself as a character? Also, there is being derivative of others work to pay homage, and then there is wholesale theft because you had writer's block from too many opiates. Heinous, and very disappointing.

I just finished book 5 this morning (2am), and if 6 or 7 can top that, I'll be surprised.

Wizard and Glass was so good because of the narrative of Roland's time with his friends in Meijis.

I just started Book 7. Roland cracks me up, heh. I really liked books 2-4 the best.

I need to buy book 1... Sounds like a interesting series though.
