I'm not participating in the Century-A-Month, but I have done 9 centuries, so far, this year. They were all held by members of the DC Randonneurs club (www.dcrand.org (http://www.dcrand.org)).
The rides go by names of:
Weenie One Hundred Century
Cobb Island Century
Oh Brother! Century
Glen Echo Century
A Serene Century
Funky Monkey Business Century
Hamburg Heaven Century
Creeks & Crannies (And Maybe Your Granny) Century
The last century (yesterday) was a great one. You can read about it here (to avoid double posting):

Riding in the mountains of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia on a warm sunny day is such a joy and every ride is a gift to be thankful for.

OK, you've established that you can handle a hundred miles at a shot. Now it's time to take the next step and become a REAL long distance rider - start riding the DC Randonneurs Brevets. 200k isn't THAT much longer than a century, and beyond that, it just becomes a question of staying fueled and hydrated. C'mon, join the fun!

Man, your centuries sound much better than my recent ones:
Ive done:
The "oh geeze didn't know this road was so hilly" ride
The "My tonsils are flaring up and I shouldn't be out here" ride
The "Stopped too long for afternoon tea and better head home for some lights" ride
The "My front ring isn't shifting and I'm 170km from home" ride

Yeah... I've made the first step finally actually joining the club.
I know I can handle 200k; I did a ride from Ocean City, MD back home to Essex, MD last year--190 miles/306k with a 20 pound backpack in July (coming home from the July 4th celebrations in Ocean City.) I'm planning on doing that ride again this year.

You've done those rides, too!

LOL that ones my favorite :roflmao2: tho for me it was more like OH *******
I've only done one century ride and its the only real ride ive ever done, Im hoping to find more to do but their all charity rides around here and its hard to raise all that money just to ride :(

Now you just need the "Chipseal Century" and the "8 Flats Goathead Double" and you're ridden the super-series of crummy rides. :)
I am in the same way. I enjoy riding with my friends and stuff, but the organized distance rides especially the 100 milers (but I enjoy the Metrics too). But something about a bunch of bikers, the rest areas with food, the people who come out & ring the cowbells; it's an awesome feeling.

My all time fav was last years "right foot is stuck in the cleat and I can't get off the bike" 200km ride followed immediately by the much shorter "dammit the map said 200 where did this extra 7km come from?" ride.
You should come on some of my rides! There's '... And then there were 3', that was a 50% casualty rate. And I can't recommend highly enough my 'Which ever way the wind blows ride' especially with Our Lady of the Perpetual Head Wind (Hi Laura! ;) ) And, of course, my favorite (no really it is my favorite): If you can't stand the heat then get out of the Pine Barrens. Then there was 'I know that left is around here somewhere' it was a metric that turned into a century. Oops, my bad. All of the above are real rides but I've only done one '... And then there were 3'. I actually won't recommend my 'Sunnyside up' as that 105F and I cut the 101 mile ride to only 97 miles.
Oh, I did the 39 tooth century, it wasn't that bad but I'm a spinner not a stomper.
