This is meant to be kind of like the 'Utility bike products you wish existed' thread, except more specific to Xtracycles.

For myself, the number one would be some kind of steel mesh I could pull over my Freeloaders when they have bags in them, something I could lock down; essentially a PacSafe for the Freeloaders. This would make it easy to hit multiple grocery errands, because I can almost always park my bike publicly when I go shopping, so anything that requires tools to tamper with will almost certainly be left alone. Some integrated pouch for storage when not in use would be great also.

Everyone wants a center stand, but Xtracycle is going to make us one if we're patient! Anything else you find yourself craving as you cycle about, without a care in the world, hauling more than seems possible and making it look easy?

Some water proof Ortlieb style free loader type bags. I hear that Ortlieb is making some for the Yuba Mundo - maybe it isn't such a pipe dream to have some made for the Xtra?

A guy who's posted extensively on the mtbr forums about his xtracycle to Big Dummy switch uses a pacsafe 120 (http://www.pacsafe.com/www/index.php?_room=3&_action=detail&id=49) on a B.O.B. bag on his rig. You could also just put any kind of pacsafe bag in the freeloader, and cable it to the seatstays.

This is from a recent product shoot for upcoming xtracycle products. It's replacement v-racks that will take standard panniers.

Cool...I have panniers galore so that would work, but I'd still like some big expedition sized waterproof Ortlieb bags. Having said that being able to carry 6 panniers on your bike [2 up front + 4 in the rear] is nothing to sneeze about!.....:thumb:

a snapdeck with a couple kids seats bolted onto it, or even better a molded one piece unit. I'm not talking about the pea pod which fits smaller kids, I'm talking more like a booster seat type thing for kids 40-60 lbs. I could do it myself by it would look pretty ghetto.

Right now they can ride on the traditional snap deck just fine, but they tend to get a bit cranky on longer rides. Having a seat they could lean back in or even fall asleep in would make life that much better.

Oh and one more thing. A way to attach a trail-a-bike to the back of an xtracycle. I keep imagining some type of self-made bolt on unit, but I can't really figure out how to get a stable verticle seat post type attachment onto the back of an xtracycle.

Couldn't you just bolt a plumbing fixture into the back of the snapdeck? Not sure how the snapdeck would handle the backwards pull, but it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to rig up something.

Not sure I would want to chance it. It's pretty easy to slide the snapdeck back and forth between the two rails. Those trail-a-bikes put a lot of torque on the seatposts and I can just see the trail-a-bike ripping the snap deck back off the rails and taking out the panniers with it, all the while sending my kid careening who knows where.
