Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Commuting Tire Question

I normally run 23c tires on my open pro rims, mainly because I ride it as a road bike... For the winter does anyone run wider tires, just like normal roadies w. gears do....???

Haven't seen you in here for a while, but maybe that's b/c I haven't really been in here. Ho hum...
Anyways,
I throw a pair of cyclocross tires (the semi-slick kind, not knobbies) on for the winter commute as Surly allows for a wider tire range. Helps quite a bit.

Thanks :) I have a Pista, I'm going to see if I can even go up to 25's. Down here in SC, we don't get much snow.. but alot of sleet/ice/rain. I would rather bike in snow anyday.

I'm running Ionnia studded tires on my Schwinn frame, they're 700x35. I was worried the side pull brake wouldn't be able to accomodate the wheel and tire, but have no problems. My problem was in the chain inches, the bigger tire changed the deminsions of the bike enough that I had to go to different chain ring and rear gear, so I'm running a 46x17, and that at times seems a little steep.

I personally ride the same tires I ride year-round. I find that the streets are generally plowed well enough that I don't fall. Then again I suppose the first snowfall is coming up tonight (?) so we'll see how I fare tomorrow morning!

It is not supposed to be cold enough for any to stick though, so probably no snow tomorrow morning.
