Hey all,

I have a soon to be 7yo son, who needs to learn how to ride. His first bike was a BMX Style wally world type that was so twitchy he couldnt stay up. After talking to some of the parents here on the board, I've figured that he needs a longer, more stable bike. After looking around, About the only thing I can find are BMX style (read twitchy) or Mtn bikes (Lots of gears, and hand brakes.... not so good for learning on)

I found the TREK DRIFT (http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2008/kids/ages_6_9/drift20/) and it looks like it might just fit the bill...

Anyone here have one for their kids? Its a Trek, so I figure its going to be well made (for $250+ it had better be )

Any ideas for something else?

TIA
Billy

MY very small 6 yo is up on 2 wheels with his Specialized Hotrock 20' coaster.

VERY STABLE. he has been riding only this month and his favorite thing to do now is ride full speed down a hill in a parking lot and lock up his back wheel to see how long of a skid mark he makes.

But you might want to look at Electra http://www.electrabike.com/b_kids.html

very cool rides.
