I searched and found nothing. I have a flip-flop hub and want to run a smaller gear(I'm running 44-16). I would like to run a 36-13, the rollout is a little higher and that's okay. So are the 13T freewheels durable enough for racing?

I suppose, most GOOD 16T freewheels have 4 pawls. The highest count I a 13T I've found is 3 pawls (made by Odyssey, check Dans Comp). You're giving up durability for lighter weight, and that awesome look of a lower gearing.

It would be higher gearing, not lower you knob.

He's keeping the front gear the same, only going lower in the back. That means he's getting a higher gear.

Learn to read WTP. His front sprocket will be changed out as well.

(36/13 = 2.77) > (44/16 = 2.75). Just. Changing both is still going to make his gearing higher, not lower -- though by such a small margin it doesn't matter.

I know that! Smaller gears have always been hot. I'm saying 36/13 looks a whole lot better than 44/16. I am not talking about changing gear ratios.

Ok, to settle this I will be getting a smaller front sprocket and freewheel, which will in turn actually make my ratio a little bit higher. So I guess you could say I'm getting a higher gear, but I'm getting smaller sprockets.

Did you ask your local stores? They could probably dig around for you and order without you doing work.

No, I haven't asked any of my LBS's yet, but I could. And do you mean I could get one without ordering it?
