As many companies that are willing to sponser me! You know I get around with the Ladies
Lot's of advertising Ops..
BTW... Chris (PizzaMan) got 2nd...I couldn't get a pict.. they flew by be a couple of times and I couldn't get my camera ready (new equipment), I couldn't find him afterwards but you know how he is kind of mild mannered.

So how did Velodiva do? We are all aquiver with anticipation. It was good to meet you. Can't wait to do a ride together. We went home and took out Red Riders frustration on the tandem. We hammered the c?@^ out of the tandem. Looks like if the LBS can't figure out the problem properly she will get a new frame and fork out of the deal.

Hey, really great to see yuz guyz...Wish I had been able to get riding shots of Deb. Mary Ellen got a 14th if I heard correctly which is awsome. She looked pretty masterful out there.
Hope I get some picts soon of you guys biking. I'll find out soon about Alan's ride in HMB
Pete
Gotta give photo credits to Beau and Oliver, the official Red Rider cheering section. (barking counts doesn't it?)

To bad their feet won't reach the pedals on your tandem... would make for a great photo!

Pete - Thanks for posting the pics. It was nice to see you after the race. I was glad that the W4 only had to do 2 laps. I stayed with the lead peleton of about 13 women until the top of Mama Bear on the last lap; then I dropped off along with another woman. I counted about 11 W4 women ahead of me but I didn't stay around for the official results. Red Rider, you missed the W4 crash on lap 1 before Mama Bear. A squirrel darted out in the road, somebody braked suddenly and took down about (I am guessing) 6-8 riders. We weren't going fast at that point so I managed to get around the crash. Other than that, it was a great race. "Offiical" report with pics to follow.
It was pretty hard to get my self rolling after yesterdays ride. I’ve never had such a bonk carry over into the next day. I really wanted to see some of the BF’rs racing in the Berkeley RR. I figured it would be a nice easy recovery. I got over to the East bay kind of late and missed the start. I met with a nice young woman on the Bart, “Beth” and was fortunate enough to ride over with her. I stopped at the bottom of Papa Bear to snap some picts. I headed up the climb and was setting up my camera on a guardrail post to take shots when I heard a hey Pete… It was Ritch VeloDivas Hubby. We started heading up and a pack flew down with Mary Ellen right in the thick of it, so I said I’ll catch you later and chased the pack down the hill at +40 mph to catch Mary Ellen on the short climb to the turnoff. No way, she was rockin it and my legs were dead.
Rich had told me that Red Rider had dropped out due to a bad wobble in her Headset fork area. I went down to the parking lot and way in the back saw the telltale green from her Orbea. It was nice to see them and they recognized my mug right away. Their to cute doggies were there offering advice, tech support and spiritual guidance : ).
We talked shop and the prospects of having them down this way for a nice BF ride. Maybe 4th of July. I hope to catch Deb’s next race and get some good picts.
BTW- Chris aka Pizza Man, riding for Morgan Stanley place 2nd in his race. I couldn’t locate him. So I was a little disappointed over that. I’ve been running into him for the last two weeks at the Tuesday night park rides. I’m hoping at least to get him on a Gladiator ride. I might have to Sag…Hey Alan, Ron and Curtis wanna work the Sag wagon with me : )………
I went back up to the last climb and met Mary Ellen and Ritch coming down and was able to get some good picts. They were beat and wanted to head out to Starbucks to chill out. Mary Ellen’s bike is super tricked out… it’s a drooler! They looked good together and I hope we get them on a Tandem ride sometime soon. Nice talking to all of you and it was great seeing another side of the BF family.
All in all the race was pretty exciting, and I’m beginning to recognize a lot of faces now that I’ve been becoming interested in the local racing culture. It is so rich with personality and adventure.
I’m coming up on just about a year of being actively invested and participating in the NorCal group. It’s been just an amazing adventure. When you hit 50 you notice that you start closing it off towards people. I think life can sometimes be a burnout, and you’re through with all the BS in the world these days. Al of of us at this age just want to sit in front of the tube and pat the cat. I’m really glad that the group has inspired me to get out and stay active in life. I think the racer girls, and the rest of the great woman of the tribe are an inspiration to so many people on levels they don’t even realize. I see the looks from children and people who don’t think they have it in them to do what you do… and their eyes light up, and I think that is so cool… so with those famous timeless words I say “ You go girls”. Thanks for riding with the group and adding some fun and beauty to the world of cycling, and congrats to the guys like us who are supportive and cheer you on when the going gets tough. Bikeforums, rocks!
In closing I couldn’t wait to get home, I’m so beat. Cathy made me one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I had a great nap and I’m winding down to prepare myself for the Davis which is a real head trip and must be approached with some clear headedness.
Have a nice week and let’s all ride together one of these days.

That sounds like you did really well. I'm not sorry about missing the crash (I had my own mechanical issues that may have lead to a crash, hence my pulling out), I'm sorry to have missed the race. We plan to go back and ride it on the tandem soon.
Looking forward to your official report.
