That picture is pretty informative- everyone in one group with no stragglers.
They did the architecture ride this year, once already. They may well do it again. The number of people who come can get a bit unwieldy, but after it starts, a lot of folks drop off and go get something to drink.
If you just want to ride around Funkytown, Colonel's cycles has a Thursday Night SS ride that goes about 30 fairly fast miles.
Actually, I was looking for something more along the lines of Tour Dallas, with a huge number of people on urban streets (ie, not the shoulder of a highway). That may not be the ride I was thinking of, though.
