I found another thread about what not to wear but it wasn't too clear. Someone asked if they could wear a Hammer Nutrition jersey and the reply was that they could wear it because it is not a cycling team but they do sponsor athletes. My question is if I would wear a jersey that says Rock Shocks (I know mountain bikes...it was a gift from my grandma), Panaracer, and some other things on it. This race will be a Cat V road race if that makes any difference.

You should try to keep it as plain as possible, but I don't think the promoters will mind much for Cat 5 if it's not a racing team or club.

I am just worried that I will show up for my first race and not be able to race it. That would suck.

Well if you want to be 100% legal, buy a plain jersey for $25 from nashbar or performance, but I still doubt they'll give you any hassle for a basic Rock Shox jersey.

Ok, thanks a lot! I will probably buy another jersey anyway considering I need more than one.

Here the rules are - plain jersey, official club jersey or registered sponsor jersey. They can be pretty strict on it but when first timers rock up in full CSC kits so they normally let it go :)
