CAAD5 is not cannondales latest and greatest but it sure is one of the most beautiful frames I've seen.

It is darn quick too. I pulled all the components/wheels off my other road bike and put em on this beauty.

I hate to get sweat all over it I like it so much!

Sam that is a SWEET BIKE!! and yeah I know what you mean by the CAAD 5's from C-dale...I have 2 of them and just love them!!...I thought about getting the bike that you have, because I just LOVE that paint job, it was created back in 2001 by cannondale after 9/11 because there was a group of fire fighters that went on a tour across america, and they rode those bikes with that paint job!!.. It's just sweet, and yeah as you say a really fast and good bike!!..

Velo, that was a main reson for getting it, matches my personality.

Caadman, I too like that it comemorates 9/11. And the paint scheme is to die for. It weighed in at 17.6 pounds with full Dura ace (9 speed), Ksyrium SSC SL's, Easton carbon seatpost, Speedplay X2 pedals.

Doin all right Sam. The ride home was rough, David got an ear infection, started really getting grumpy on Friday, we just figured he was a little out of sorts, but when we got on the interstate and into the mountains the pressure changes really had him wailing. We got him home and found out about the infection, got it medicated and now it's smoother sailing. How you doin'? Hope Tday was good...

That sure is a purty bike but DANG, that handlebar is LOW!! Makes my back hurt just looking at it.

Wow!! that is pretty good Sam, 17 and a half pounds, you run some great stuff on that!!..The lighter of my 2 comes in at 18 and 3/4, but I run campy chorus and ti seatpost and look pedals and stuff like that, so not as high end stuff as your's has, but that's great what you have on it, I to have ksyriums SSC on both my c-dale and the specialized that I have, and I just love those wheels!!, I'm sure you'll really be cranking on the c-dal here this winter and spring and times to come!!..

Aerodynamics my man! And it is not as bad as it may look. I am actually more upright on this rig than on my CAAD4 frame.

Where can someone else get one of those?

Sam, how much did you pay for the frame (bike?), there are a bunch of CAAD 5 frames on ebay right now.

Owen, I think you will be hard pressed to find this frame and paint scheme. It was a special run from what I understand.

Pinky, I bought the complete bike with all the components (105/mavic wheelset) for 1100.00 from my LBS but I do a lot of biz with them. The dura ace components came off my K2 Mod 5 and I have a buyer for the K2 with all the 105 stuff installed on it. I will be getting 800.00 for the K2 which will mean I got the frame and slice carbon fork for less than 400.00.

New from Cdale the CAAD5 and a slice fork is somewhere in the 1000.00 price range I beleive. But this limited edition paint scheme is a chance deal. I'd have gotten an R1000/CAAD7 if not for this particular model.

Sam if you get that bell, you'll have to paint over that silver portion of the bell, paint it red going to white going to blue, so the whole thing is consistent, red white and blue.. :D

You know you're really cool, I'm pretty much like you also on that red white and blue theme..I have a red bike, that I got a second set of wheels for because on the wheels I have those red white and blue tires on them, but I only put them on the bike for out countries national holiday's during the riding season, like memorial day, 4th of july, labor day and stuff like that...Then I have a complete kit of clothing with shoes that's r/w+b, jersey from cannondale with the flag on it, you may have seen it, white shorts that my Mom made me with other stuff red white and blue on it and all, those shoes in that same color scheem that northwave made a few years back, and socks to go also..I don't wear it often, but I do pull it all out for the holiday's as I said..Yeah most people call me crazy and a wild dresser, but I just like color and doing things a bit differently.

So it's cool to know that there are other people out there that are kind of similar to me on that stuff..

Benjamin, I have that Cannondale flag jersey also. I love it. I am going to get a RWB helmet and socks soon and perhaps ride in one of those 4th of july parades one day.

Ahhh good man Sam!, that sounds cool riding in a parade, it certianly would be fitting!...Say what's RWB stand for, that's cool that you're getting a helmet and socks to go with also..I also run on those day's the red briko twinner helmet that I have, and the socks are from northwave to..

I lifted the bell pic from an e-bay current auction
(hint). I'm sorry to say it is hiTen steel, nothing exotic
like Ti or 531 (besides Ti has a terrible ring and CF just
goes thunk when the clapper hits it,I know I tried).

My wife and I did a 4th of July Tri 2 yrs ago. We wrapped our frames w/ RWB streamers and put RWB tassles on the end of the bars. RWB fringe around the seats and foam sparkley stars in our wheels. We got stopped by EVERY volunteer we passed telling us the kid's bikes go in a dif section (they were full size bikes)!
We had temp tats and RWB apparel as well.
After we racked 'em and went to get marked. They announced our #s on the P.A. to tell us we were in the wrong area again.
Some people just don't get it!!!
