Hi,
I am new to the site and building up a frame. I recently got a Novara Buzz frame at an REI garage sale for $60. I was just online starting to see what parts i could find on the cheap and have been stumped by the wheels already. I like the idea of a hybrid bike, but now that i'm looking for wheels i'm not so sure. does anyone have any good leads to get a decent hybrid wheelset? are disk brake hubs too much to ask?
They must be out there, are they just called something besides hybrid? i mean how are people who already own these rigs supposed to find new wheels? are cycle-cross wheels hybrids? also, does anyone have any suggestions for road gearing as well? i have been a lifelong Mt biker, so this jack's aggrivated spleen getting closer to the road gear.
any help would be appreciated. thanks,
-patrick

What width tires were you planning to use?

29er wheels are the same size as some "hybrid" wheels, (other hybrids may have narrower rims) and you can easily find them with disc hubs...

i found some 29er wheelsets that seem like they would be good. but i don't know how wide the rims are. looks like mavic a317 rims on shimano deore and or xt disc hubs.
are all mavic a317 rims the same width, or do they make different widths?

Looks like they're 22mm wide... You should be fine running something like a 700x32c or wider...maybe even 28mm, depending on the tire...

...isn't the Buzz made for 26" wheels, though?
