I have an older Vision recumbent that I rebuilt. It has a triple chainring. I changed out the shifters (rapid fire type) because the old ones were beat up.
On the new setup, it seems like the shifter pulls more cable than the derailer needs. If I can get the cage lined up on the middle ring, when I shift to the large ring, the derailer hits the stop screw before the shifter clicks into it's detent.
I have the cable attached to the derailer arm about as far from the derailer pivot as I can. Are there compatability issues between some shifters & derailers? Can I make this work or do I need to get either a different derailer or shifter?
Thanks
