Hey I was wondering if there is a critical mass ride in the Milwaukee area? I go to school in Eau Claire and really got into cycling while at school and was wondering if there is a ride for when I return home in a few weeks. Also are there any other non-roadie full kit rides that happen on a regular basis in the area?
Thanks

non-roadie full kit ride
? Fixie?
I believe there are 'alleycat' type rides every week on the east side, try Google, otherwise call or email Bens Cyclery which seems to be a hot bed of fixie activity. They even put out their own magazine - "COG".

I'm not really looking for an alleycat race since I just participated in one last weekend. But I do ride fixed. Here at school there is a group of us that will ride every Thursday night and go like 15-20 miles or so at a fairly good pace (maybe average 18 mph). I just want a casual group of riders that doesn't require full carbon bikes and spandex to ride with them.

Sure, they are spandex wearers, but I've found the Bay View Bicycle Club folks to be a friendly lot (at least in their annual century ride) and a mix of bikes. Jose Perez on this forum I believe is a member.

Bay View is a friendly group and not all in spandex, but 18mph average is going to blow the doors (?rims?) off of just about every rider on a weekly ride. The top Bay Viewer's are probably 15mph average on relatively flat routes. Cream City is a faster group.
I'd call around the bike shops, particularly the ones on the East Side. Milwaukee's big enough, you'll find the group
