My trusty conveyance in it's final death throes. I bought this car for my Daughter in 1999 in her senior year of high school and she used it for 4 years of college and for a while after that, then I fixed it up and ran it to work for 2 more years. I paid 3200 for it with 120,000 miles on it. Today it has 251,000 and change. Before it died (fuel pump) I filled the tank, so it has sat all winter and finally punctured the tank to retrive my 15 gallons.

Fuel pump for a '99-ish Grand Am is under $300 for the part. Are you really chalking the car up as a loss for a part which is that cheap or are there other issues with the vehicle, too?

The steering rack is going bad, the brake lines have been spliced too many times, the rocker panels are completely rusted away and I had to drill holes in the floor pans to keep the water drained that is getting in from somewhere. This car has served me well and it is time to put it to rest.

Plus, it is a four door car with a spolier/wing on the rear deck lid. just saying.
