Any Clydes riding a Jamis Aurora Elite?

I've been looking for a good road friendly steed to get me off of my mountain bike. I've about given up on forcing the issue with my Serotta, and am looking at a decent assortment of alternatives. My current short list:

Soma Smoothie ES
Surly LHT
Salsa Casseroll
and the Jamis Aurora Elite that prompted this thread

The Jamis appears to have pretty decent spec, and seems well suited for long charity rides and as an everyday trainer, which is the type of riding I do. It could also handle some light touring and commuting, both of which are realistic possibilities.

Does anyone have any firsthand experience with the Aurora Elite?

I have had an Aurora Elite for about 3 months now. I love the bike but I have changed a few things. I wanted a more sporty ride so I switched the 32mm touring tires for 28S and bought a pair of ultra\open pro wheels. It is perfect for me now. I use the bike for daily commuting and also take it on long weekend rides. I have used it on gravel and light off roading. It is sort of a jack of all trades kind of bike. It certainly isn't as light as most road only bikes but it is sturdy enough to take off road and smash through pot holes in the rain. Of course the saddle it comes with is awful. The best thing about this bike is that it is so comfortable and smooth without feeling like a truck. I rode the HT and though it was very stable, it was just lifeless for me. The EA is much more nimble feeling.

The one thing that I do not like about the EA is that under hard braking, the front fork shudders. I have tried solving this with adjustments and new brake pads but I am afraid it is due to the carbon fork design. So everything isn't perfect, but its pretty close.

I love my Jamis, but mine is the entry level road bike the Jamis Ventura Comp.
