what?! freakin' awesome! That's no easy race, either.... congrats, RacerEx!
btw, do you know any guys on Evolution Cycling out of Northern Virginia?
Bad ass. Congrats RX!
Any report handy? It's funny seeing you up there solo in the results, swatting all those OKC Velo flies!
45+ He's still in Are Kansas or Arkansas how every it's pronounced so I don't know when he'll have a chance to post. Kick but effort though, since he pretty much had to do it solo.
Congrats for when you get back!
That's impressive--nice work, Ex!
Holy friggin crap. Man can race.
I bow down yet again. Sigh. You da' man!
Just don't go to sleep. I am planning on robbing you of all of your secrets mwuhahahaha!!
Nice .......................................... very nicely done! :thumb: :thumb:
... Brad
This is the most impressive, 48 seconds in a 10 minute TT. Guess the tunnel time was money well spent.

That's what I said to him too...Turns out the TT was uphill so he did it on his road bike....Still impressive though.
I bow down yet again.

That will be tough, the guys holds his cards close to his chest. Ever notice how he keeps his e-wang in his e-shorts?

Holy ****ing hell. I think I'm going to have to take up competitive embroidering or something.

that's pretty f'ing impressive.
I think most of us already knew that he was a step (or 3) above the masses :D .....congrats K.
Thanks all. It was a battle well fought by the other guys, I just managed to have everything fall into place. Doc's wind tunnel foreshadowing definitely helped me make us of my time there (see below).
I added some icing on the cake at the Tour of Arkansas this weekend, though I did get beat after a long war on the climb in stage one by a local legend and '01 Masters WC. He skipped the stage two TT (they were running it as an omnium, and though that would be OK), so they wouldn't let him start stage 3, or we would have gone back at it in the crit today. I thought that sucked and was going to talk to the promoter on his behalf but got sidetracked a results snafu.
The new TT setup was flawless, the ToA was its first real tryout. Turned the fastest time of any cat by a pretty big margin and ended up at 28 MPH on a windy rolling course with a hard 62 mile RR in my legs from the morning.
btw, do you know any guys on Evolution Cycling out of Northern Virginia?
As it happens I was doing feeds for my former teammate and TTT partner in the P1/2 at ToA who is on Evo. And another Evo Cat 4 was out helping us both at ToA and racing JM in the 4's.
You need a new forum name again, since you're clearly not an Ex Racer :)
I propose Superman

Superman was clearly what I did when I tried to fly off my bike. I think we need a better one ;)
I'm still liking Racer Ex, as it's a play on Speed Racer
Thanks all. It was a battle well fought by the other guys, but I crushed their souls without any mercy.
That's better :innocent:
Wow. Great racing Ex. Those are some friggin' great results.
You planning on going to Masters Nats? I think it would be worth your while.
geez, wait until you hear about the crit. and how he........go ahead, tell 'em, Rx
oh come on, the suspense is KILLER
Just adding some suspense: I don't ever expect to be able to pull off a crit like this...

if you rode for more than 80 miles a week, on a bike that was made in the 21st century, using wheels that didn't weight 5 lbs each, maybe you could. ;)
Pcad's not the only one with a Bag of Excuses ™ ;)
the crit was movie star stuff. absolutely Made in Hollywood. he's gonna tell ya and you're gonna think he's lying. you're gonna say to yourself "that stuff isn't real; it only happens in movies. that's not possible in real life." i'd say Rx is an animal, but animals call him 'animal'. he doesn't crush souls; he crushes the souls of those who crush souls. he's like the Alpha-Rx
i think diablo rojo is gonna play him in the movie
Ah geez - c'mon, what happened at the crit? :D
Botto - leave Rockets alone. Him riding all that old heavy stuff is the only chance I've got of catching him. ;)
Chuck Norris heard about this crit and promptly had a stroke. He kung fu'd it away, but he had one.

Well, here's the crit report:
Flatted two laps in. Cut through the alley and got a wheel from SRAM (bless you guys) just as the pack was coming through (there went the free lap). Several guys had attacked so the field was apart. I don't start well in the 53/11, even with a good push, especially if I'm not clipped in. Chased, got on the back, worked my way through the pack, did a few bridges, worked with a 35 guy (they had combined us), caught the solo leader, also a 35. We worked together and didn't contest any of the primes.
So we kept going till we lapped the field. Then we kept going till we did it again. We had 7 or so to go so the three of us went up front, pulled the field to the finish. I went part way into the bell lap and got enough gap to win.
Course was tailor-made for this. Super tight, technical, less than 2 minutes per lap. 326w NP for 41 minutes, so it wasn't crazy fast, I just think most people were shot from the day before; we had done a 62 mile RR that was a short version of the pro Mt Magazine route (finished after a long climb) then the 21 mile TT in the afternoon.
Plus we had the two GC leaders in the break so it wasn't like there was a great urgency to chase.
Racer Ex bonked the last two miles of that TT BTW. And judging by the sludge filled appendages that are my legs today I'd hold off on the Superman stuff.
Unless Botto's been up to his old tricks...

Yeah, I hear if you don't keep those robotic legs well lubricated they can feel like that....unreal.
"You see this cat Racer Ex is a bad mother--
(Shut your mouth)
But I'm talkin' about Racer Ex
(Then we can dig it)"
Totally awesome!
I was so happy I cried. You guys are legends (in my mind). I love BF!!!!

Jesus....
easy now, he's already at risk of getting an over-inflated impression of himself.
