I have an early 90s Fondriest steel frame. Does anyone know what seatpost size it would take? The markings are rubbed off the old post. Thanks.
Most likely 27.2mm
Use a micrometer or caliper to check the old post; better to know than buy (and scratch up ) the wrong size.

Thanks, I thought it was 27.2, I'll borrow my brother's micrometer and check for sure.

Italian size? there is no such a thing. Old italian bikes were 26.8, then 27 and afterwards 27.2. Better get a caliper and measure the ID of that seat tube.

Yeah - don't do any guessing. There's no rhyme or reason to seatpost size, that I have found. You can also take it to the LBS and have them use their seatpost sizer to give you the correct dia.
