Foo - Should I start a new Ebay account?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've had my ebay account since I was 18 and I'm now 25

Feedback is perfect... except for one item I 'won', when I was 18 and forgot to pay for (I think it was Led Zeppelin LP). And received a well deserved negative feedback rating for. Leaving me with a feedback rating of 97.9%.

I've since matured, relatively I guess. I've changed my ways, no mindless bidding on crap I don't need and I've have a run of almost 50 good transactions. Bought two cars, sold one, about to sell another, two bikes, and bought/sold lots of cool/neat/unique items.

Think I'd be better off starting a new account to erase my 1 negative? Would a feedback rating of like 5 at 100% be better than almost 50 at 97.9%?

No way... one neg feedback over 50 purchases is better than 5 at 100%. IMHO.

I would agree

I agree, leave it. When looking at feedback I place the highest emphasis on the most recent transactions. One negative so far back that I can't find it, I'd totally disregard. Account age means a lot too, especially combined with the feedback. I see one negative since 1998 compared to none since last month, guess who gets my bid?

Agreed. Seniority over appearance.

You have a low transaction count for one neg to give you such a low score.

I'd start anew.
