Mountain Biking - Post up pictures of MTB's with road tires,

I have seen a lot of talk but not one single good picture of a MTB with a road tire yet.

why would anyone do this...?

There aren't any...the MTB's are too embarrassed to pose for the camera.

You mean with slicks? Or actual skinny 1.25- tires?

slicks I guess, 1.5 is the widest i;ve seen for road type tires.

I think i might get a set of road tires from my local bike shop... not slicks, but something a lil less knobby. then ill post pics. hows that?

i can photograph my mountainbike (with 2.3" tires) with a spare pair of 23mm roadbike tires hanging off the handlebars! :D

I don't get it. My road bike has road tires. Why would my mountain bike need them?

Some of us like to go off road on a whim, and cannot do that on a road bike. I rode my Giant Rainier from Colorado to Dallas (I-50, I-287)with 2" Forte VersaTracs on, and never had one issue. Great on the road, and they helped me in conditions where I would have had to get off my road bike and carry it through.

I for one live on a hardpacked dead-end dirt road, which transitions to asphault eventually.
The tires I use when I ride to the post office to get my mail, etc work wonderfully for that, and save me from eating the tread off of my nice knobby low pressure USB tires.. they also roll a lot faster with less resistance.

I have Specialized Fat boys on my steel hard rock.

For times to rid eon the bike path with the gf, when I don't feel like wasting tread on my FSR-XC and yes, riding my Cervelo SLC at 15km/hr with the girl is over kill.
