i'm running new cables on my bike, and i'm up to the shift cables, but i've come across an issue. the barrel ends on the cables are stuck inside of the shimano revoshift shifters, and no matter how i try to push them out, they won't budge. is there a trick i'm missing as to how to get these out? i sprayed some boeshield lubricant on them in the hopes it would loosen things up, over night, but i'm worried it will have no effect..

thanks for any advice you have!

I've had to dig particularly stubborn ferrules out with a pick and needlenosed pliers.

i figure i should reply with how i remedied it, this morning..

i couldn't even get a pick in around it, to try to wiggle it loose, so i had the idea to cut the cable with about 4 inches left, i doubled the cable over, and tightened the jaws of a hand drill around the doubled over section, and slowly turned the drill. it got the ferrule spinning and loose enough to push out the rest of the way!
