Road Bike Racing - Words an old bike racer doesn't want to hear

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Being a great dad and husband are not at odds with being a bike racer. You just condense a bit (hint: you don't need 85 mile commutes to race bikes ;))

BTW: she'll probably be telling you not to tell anyone outside of immediate family until after the 1st trimester, so stop talking about it now...

Let me clear something up.
I will be the best father EVAR. My child will come first no matter what. I'm just old and thought I was through with this. But my wife likes my body and can't keep her hands off me sometimes. :D

edit: what am I saying? We don't even really know. Jeesh.

It is admirable for a man to take his son fishing, but there is a special place in heaven for the father who takes his daughter shopping.

This quote really strikes home as I stood with my daughter Saturday in Club Libby Lu, no boys allowed.

Dude, here is my 19 month old daughter. I went to answer the phone after lunch one day and found her like this. No prompting, no staging at all. The kid LOVES watching racing and is the only time she'll sit still for longer than 2 minutes.

My 18 month old daughters first word was Da-Da. One of her first 10 words was "bike"
Her first sentance was "Da-Da's bike".

Having a baby drastically reduced the quantity of training (miles) I was able to get. However, since December, I focused on structured quality and am actually faster this year.

I'm not sure why my oldest son is still building Open Pros, but it's nice to have a wheel builder in the house...

I'm no doctor, but I think SHE gets the test.

How late is she? There are OTC tests sensitive enough to detect pregnancy hormones within 3 days of conception.

Get some tests on the way home (they'll fit in your jersey pocket). She's not going to believe the first one, and will be looking for the 2nd one in a couple days. A false positive is unlikely unless she's on hormones...

bdcheung
05-13-08, 02:15 PM
waterrockets: almost every single pregnancy test sold nowadays comes with at least two sticks.

sub: let me know if I'm getting into too much detail here, but you're way more likely to get a false negative than a false positive from a name-brand test. And even the false negatives are rare.

jeez, look at what married life has turned me into.

From an old guy that has been down this road many times ...

... no matter what the result of the "test" is, it is good. Celebrate either outcome.

BTW, I was 41 when my youngest was born. You're not that old, are you?

No word tonight. Some construction workers broke a main waterline to our neighborhood. No water. No toilet. No showers!!!

Oh, and her parents are here.

To clear a few things up as well;
I'm 38. So is my wife. We have two beautiful girls (8 & 12).
