My wife and I will be there. I've never done this ride before. You?

First time for this ride and anything over 25-30 miles. My wife thought this is a great opportunity to get out for the weekend, though she will not participate, but take the opportunity to relax.

Sounds like a quaint little ride. Should be fun.

"good morning - our Tour de Forts Bike Ride is only in its 3rd year and we are still small. I expect 40-50 cyclists. each day I receive 3-4 more registrations, so, for me, it is rather 'scary' not knowing how many people to plan on feeding.

We are asking that the cyclists be around the courthouse between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. with the Century Riders lining up first -- right behind the Sheriff's Patrol. Then the others in order of distance will follow. We actually have some who are planning just 10 miles -- first time. But, it is good they are coming out!! Last year, we had a 14 year old and his father who completed the Century Ride!! That was great!!

We have 10 stations set up approximately every 10 miles, 4-5 SAG Wagons, police escort the entire trip and medical personnel on hand. We have good reviews and lots of hits on the Bike Texas web-site. It will just take time to grow. I do know that we do have lots of fun though!!"

Still debating on 40 or century (I would tap out of the century around 50-60 mile point. My avg mph is 12-14. Look out for me, older yellow/black steel frame with ghetto looking yellow grips with black electrical tape (works very well on my commute.

We are doing the 40, and should be right in your pace range. We are both riding Gary Fisher mountain bikes with slicks. With only 40-50 riders, it shouldn't be hard to find us and vice versa.

We had a great time and the weather was perfect. I highly recommend this ride for anyone who likes a smaller personal attention type of experience. We will likely make this a regular excursion. If you go to this one, be ready for some hills.
