Ok, so I'm out for a ride the other night and I feel extra play in my left pedal. I think I might have a cleat coming loose so I pull over and check my cleats and everything is fine?? I decide that I will ride to the next town and do a more thorough inspection. I start riding again, trying to take it easy and all of the sudden I hear a little clinking noise and my left crank arm is hanging from my left shoe!! The crank bolt had fallen out and the crank arm was dangling from the pedal attached to my left shoe. I stopped the bike and retrieved the crank bolt and tried to reassemble so I could get to town and make a permanent repair. I did not have a big enough allen in my mini-tool so I found a rock from the shoulder of the road that would somewhat fit the allen head and put my crank arm back on as snug as I could and limped to town.
In town I found a buddy who had the appropriate allen wrench and some locktite and we reinstalled the left side crank bolt and all is well..........Now I'm wondering if there were any other parts (like a washer) that could have fallen out that I missed. I don't want to tear up my crank by missing something here. I have a Truvativ Elita Triple with ISIS drive. Does anyone know if there is anything other than the crank bolt that would come off the left side? I don't want to ride this thing very hard until I know the answer.
Thanks for your help!
