Believe it or not, I don't have a Primary Care Physician and would like to go to one that is a cyclist or at least is an endurance athlete. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone in Millbrae, Burlingame, or San Mateo? I might possibly go as far as SF as well.
Thanks in advance,
Henry
Same here. Any recommendations for the Fremont area?

What is your insurance? HMO or PPO? If it is an HMO you have to pick a physician in your provider network.

I have a PPO and anyone out-of-network I have to pick up 20%. I can check any recommendations to see if they are on the Empire/Bluecross of California network.

huh?
I'll be your Primary.
As long as you write checks, I'll tell you exactly what you want to hear. I'll also write prescriptions for new equipment as part of your rehab. Nothing is out of reach...example:
Your blood pressure is bad: (I can tell by looking at you)
Rx - You need to ride faster
Submit Claim for: Zipp 404 Clinchers
Off you go, call me in a week.
If you crash, I'll most certainly tell you " Yup, looks like it hurts"
Now when you stop and think about it, I'm qualified, I can go DL a diploma here if you need to see some official documentation.

HMO=denial of quality care and forget about utilizing any necessary durable medical equipment. Reminds me of the Capital One credit card commercials where David Spade plays the part of a customer rep and keeps telling the customers on the phone..NO, NO, NO, thank you NO, etc...lol.

For some reason it really cracked me up and I went into a laughing jag! and I needed it...Thanks Guys
^^ looks like NorCal is getting infected by a little more of the road forum humor! First the bibs comment, now this - it reminds me of how I always have my best/hardiest laughs at work, but normally tone it down when I'm at home.....

I don't even really know what I'm laughing about...I think I've had a rough week and I had a Whacky Weed moment without the weed. Some times I ride with the group and the way the characters interact is comedy that writes itself. I think maybe cyclists are generally rugged individuals, with strong unique character profiles. It really makes for strong comedic interaction...I guess maybe I just came to that conclusion, that's why I never get bored in this group. Inoccent inappropriatness makes for great comedy... What the Hell am I saying???:bike:

Hmm, guess I'll stick with a random pick from the list of in-network doctors.

since I'm on the poverty level with my income I finally got insurance with healthy San Francisco program, and so far everyone I've dealt with is an avid cyclist! I guess I'm really lucky.

PPO - Power Pedal Option?
That's mostly my take on health maintenance. My work has a rebate for having yearly visits with a PCP so I thought I'd take advantage of it. Plus after four kids, I want to look at having the procedure done.

I want to look at having the procedure done.Hey, I just got a new knife the other day. It's nice and sharp. Let me know.
Anyone have a good doctor in the Oakland/Berkeley/Emeryville area? I'm getting old enough that I probably need to start get a check-up every now and again. Ugh.

From what I hear around these parts, buying a cheap Bontrager saddle might be a cheaper option?

What ever you do, DO NOT type "elastrator" into Google and click "I'm Feeling Lucky".

Thanks. I have the list of in-network docs. I just wanted to see if there are any that are avid cyclists or runners without interviewing each one.
