I have an iron horse maverick, and was looking to start cutting some weight from it. From looking at spec sheets, I noticed that the handlebar and stem are steel. I obviously want to rip these off the bike. Pricepoint has some cheap options, but i was wondering what the expected difference from steel to aluminum would be. I couldn't find weight specifics for each piece on the maverick, so I'm at a bit of a loss.
eventually, I'll move on to the wheelset and fork to shave some more weight, but I figured that i'll beat up the current pieces and do that at a later time.
Any thoughts on this transition from steel to aluminum?
