I decided I need a second mountain bike.

I was looking at SS 29ers, but I honestly don't think I have the legs to get them through the kind of terrain I usually ride with any kind of sane gearing.

Ever since I bought my Jake last year, I've been kind of gung-ho on bikes that open up more riding opportunities for me.

The Pugsley seems to fit this bill....

Any clydes have experience with Pugsleys or the offset Large Marge rims in general? It looks like 32 spoke prebuilt wheels can be had at a reasonable price with quality spokes and hubs, but I'm wondering if a custom built 36 spoke would be better.

custom seems to always be the better idea given the weight of alot of us here. Nothing worse than being without the anticipated bike due to cutting corners. Ask me how I know...

I'd get a wheel laced. I'm running 32 Mavics with DTs' but then again I''m only commuting and doing 40/50 mile fun rides, no trails.

The Pugsley is designed to carry tons of weight. There is nothing weight-weenie about it.

I think whatever they give you will be fine.
