Bicycle Mechanics - 1 pc cranks to 3 pc cranks

I am confused with all this I want 3 pc cranks but I have one pc cranks. Can someone point me to a tut or tell me how to get the one piece cranks out and 3 pc in. By the way I have a Mongoose Motivator and use it for freestyle.

You need to install a bottom bracket adaptor. These are the two that I know of:

You take your old crank out, put the adaptor in, then install the bottom bracket and crank of your choice.

bmx 3 piece do not need an adapter as they are made to fit the american bb shell. whatever 3 piece bmx cranks you get nake sure you order ones for american bb. Bmx 3 piece cranks can come in many different bb sizes depending on the fram. There are american, euro, mid and spanish. There are also a couple oddball bike specific ones out there too.
