Mountain Biking - Newbie question: RockShox oil on piston?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I bought my bike less than a week ago, I've ridden every day so far. Everything feels normal but even after the first ride I noticed a build up of oil on the piston of the front shocks (RockShox Dart 1). There is a line of oil at the highest point of compression on the fork. I just want to make sure this is normal before I sound stupid asking the LBS :) I'll attach a pic, hope its not too big for the forum.

The Dart is nothing to scream about and sometimes LBS's put a little extra goop on there to make them smooth so they sell better.

I'd wipe it off really well and see if it builds up again. My guess is it's not going to happen again.

Other than that...how's the WAhoo treatin' ya? (more pic's) ;)

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think anyone would want pics of a stock bike or I would have taken some better ones haha. But so far its a great bike. Miles better than anything else I've ever owned...which isnt saying much cause my other bikes have all been huffy or murray craptastic bikes. This is the first bike I've owned in over 10 years though. I do have to add that the Murray bike I owned put up with a LOT of abuse. I used to jump it, trail ride, even do tricks on it. It never let me down at all. It probably weighed 40lbs though.

Nice to have you here. Ride hard.

(the pistons are called "stanchions" by the say)

oil on the stanchions leaking from the dust seals is normal. I've seen it on all makes and model forks.
