I stopped by tonight to try my new camera out before the Davis. Dropped my old one too many times.
It's a lot of fun to participate or even just to watch. I was in the Photographer mode tonight for a change... no need to beat myself up just before the Davis.
Tim aka "BottleRocket is a regular out there. I usually see him for about 2 minutes in the beginning but loose sight on the first climb. I can almost keep up with the girls, and can pass an old fart or two! Chris aka "PizzaMan" is a complete animal in the peloton. I finally got an action shot of him out front. I had the sports mode on and it was still a blur. I didn't get a lot of shots, I was getting cold and hungry so I headed out. If anyone is out that way check it out. It's like "Critical Mass" at light speed! There are some great athletes out there, Men & Woman... Almost makes you want to get some wine and cheese and hunker down on a blanket in the grass and cheer them on....Maybe I will!:popcorn

And I asked before, so I'll ask again ... how many damn kits does Pete have?

Pete, great shots, I miss my Quantum P.

Not sure there is official links for this ride. It just kind of happens.
From what I can gather, key points are 6pm Tues nights. Not even sure about start, possibly Polo fields, possibly JFK at Transverse Drive (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=John+F+Kennedy+Drive+at+Transverse+Drive+,+San+Francisco,+CA&sll=37.771393,-122.477946&sspn=0.007921,0.014269&ie=UTF8&ll=37.771665,-122.479234&spn=0.007921,0.014269&t=h&z=16&iwloc=addr).

Pete, can you provide any more details?

Pete, good to see you last night, thanks for the pics!

This ride happens every Tuesday, meeting at 6PM and leaving at about 6:05 PM for one easy warm up lap of the course, then we start going hard.

The meeting spot is in the little side road turnout off Transverse Drive, just south of John F Kennedy Drive.

The course is a clockwise loop of Transverse Drive, Middle Drive West, Chain of Lakes Drive East, & John F Kennedy Drive. There are 2 sprint points on each lap, one is a painted line on Middle Drive West, the other is at the top of JFK at Transverse.

If you get tired or get dropped you can always sit out a lap to recover then jump back in, lots of people do. And if you're lucky, you might just win a jar of pickles! :D

They meet in the spot marked O.
The path is indicated above--ignore the path I crossed out.

I'll be in the tail trying to catch up.

Cheers.

And I asked before, so I'll ask again ... how many damn kits does Pete have? I usually

warm up an hour before even thinking of hopping in...

second question= wouldn't you like to know...maybe some day a contest and I'll give away a jersey to whoever gets the closest. Cathy calls my shirt rack" Emelda"s closet... I'm like the old farts with all the baseball hats.:(

The question on Pack size;
It varys, and then the groups break up ad they're kind of operating at different speeds. I usually start with Chis's group and rapidly work my way down the food chain to children on tricycles, and bottom out on old men on walkers where I almost keep up...
Pete

I'm gonna do an expose some time soon with lots of picts and stories when I have some time. Some really cool athletes out there enjoying themselves and training at the same time.
