Mountain Biking - Drop Offs

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I imagine there are few dhillers here. So can you answer me this. Is there a limit to how high of a drop off i should take with only 4.5" of rear wheel travel? I know the higher the drop is, the rear shock just starts hittin the bottom out bumper and i dont see how that can be bad, but i've taken some 8 footers, and they haven't been too bad but i dont want to wreck my bike on a 15 footer i've wanted to try(if i have the guts). Thx for reading!

No bad, we don't bring up 6 year old threads.
Mak 90 : do a search. If you don't find what'cha lookin for, come back to this thread. Hope you're not doing 8 footers to flat w/o trials skills. (of which I have none)
