Shanghai is well away from the epicenter of the quake, so probably very inconvenienced, but unhurt.

WOW - since I moved - my reading the newspaper is limited and I haven't been watching the news faithfully as was the norm before --- I had NO idea this was that bad!!!

Hey, all — I'm fine, but thanks for thinking of me :o. Shanghai is indeed very far from the epicentre, and I barely felt the quake at all. It really looks like a terrible mess in Sichuan province, though. My work (cover story!) and life in general have kept me from Foo and other random browsing, so that explains my absence. Now, back to work again! Will check in later...

I hope people there can get aid, so life can get back to normal for those in that province. I just got family to donate to a relief charity today for this, and the cyclone.
