Nothing like a little this:

to get away from this:

I've been training pretty hard this spring, and rode a bunch this winter. But my old 46 year old bones just don't love the cold weather riding. It's still mostly high 50s, low 60s riding in the mornings here in NY...fine but I'm a warm weather junkie at heart. I adapt, but don't love cold.

I've been nursing sore knee, neck and lower back all season so far. I spent a few days down in warm, sunny Florida, away from any bikes and any exercise, short of lifting drinks and food to mouth. The aches and pains just melted away. I now feel ready to pick up the level of training and have a really good summer. R and R is a great thing.

I'll be doing that this weekend. But I would have liked to bring the bike. Alas, a concession to the wife and it is a planned 2 days off the bike anyhow. It'll be a blast though; taking our son (8 months old today) to the beach for the first time!

Cripes man, I fear you're a few seasons short of moving to retirementville permanently!
