I've Got No Control
Help !! can anyone out there recommend a contact or dealer/agent that deals with a manufacturing company called Peerless of China, I bought two ebikes from an auction, but they are missing the speed controls!! I think they are some kind of variable resistor or Potentiometer and I know where it is supposed to be attached to the motor control board, but I don't know what ohmic value of pot, please help!!
The bikes were a bargain and brand new but they are just pedal bikes at the moment!!

Just a thought but here goes... Does the variable resistor connect with 2 or 3 wires? If it is 3 it may be easy to experiment by simply trying a 1K Ohm or 10K Ohm and see if that works. If it is 2 the value may be more critical but again you could try a 1K ot 10 K as well. Might be worth a try. Hardest part might be to determine which wire goes to the center or slider contact but maybe you already know that. I also have a query out to a friend who has purchased and imported an e-bike from China to see if he knows of Peerless.

Not just a thought but a good idea, it connects with 3 wires, so if I start with a 10K pot and leave the slider in mid position it shouldn't matter too much which wire goes where as each contact will see some resistance I will check it out tomora and let you know.

It was a three connection potentiometer and as I could see Ground marked on the PCB I only had 2 other choices for 5v and the slider, got it right first time, no thanks to Peerless though who couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge my emails
Trouble is its peeing down here in Catalunya Spain and I am dying to get out on the road and test how fast they go and how far on a charge!!
Other than the bike being heavy I now have a bargain, thanks to Bike Form and its helpful members
Its nice when a forum can be so helpful I only hope that I can be of assistance to others
Once again Thanks Bill
